Mountain Biking must be tried in Chopta region as the roads are beautiful well metaled, full of green covers around and majestic views of snow capped Himalayas. The stunning route of Chopta provides an adventurous trail for mountain bikers. The route is apt for mountain biking with ascents, descents, and turns that’s thrilling, fun, and everything in between.
Every year there is one Cycling event in Chopta, sometimes organized by Government Authorities of Rudraprayag District and sometime privately organized by local people or travel companies. There are few Camps in Chopta which provides Cycles to the guest to enjoy cycling in Chopta.

To make the most out of mountain biking in Chopta make sure you are proficient in balancing, speed control, endurance, and have an experience in uphill riding. But even if you aren’t a mountain biker, there are easier trails suitable for non-mountain bikers going through beautiful forests with no traffic and comfortable route. Or you can just take the fun of downhill cycling.
Begin your ride by riding in areas that are relatively easier. Once you are familiar with the terrain you can start exploring.
You can either get your own mountain bike or hire one from Rishikesh. Don’t forget to check the condition of the bike thoroughly and get all your safety gears. If you hire a mountain bike, make sure you learn from the experts about the trail, tips and tricks of mountain biking.

Details: Cycling down from Chopta to Ukhimath via Baniyakund and Duggalbitta. The region is covered with evergreen forest famous for bird watching. You can also visit Sari Village (starting point of Deoriatal Trek) by adding 5 kms of cycling each side from the main road.

Details: From Chopta once you reach Makku bend, take right turn towards Makku Village. The terrain is beautiful with lush green forest and multiple waterfall during summer and monsoon season.

Details: This is simple amazing and just after 1 km you can see the valley and Himalayas of Auli side (Nanda Devi, Trishul, Hathi Ghodi Parvat, etc). The trail is famous for its bird and wildlife and crosses through Kanchula Korak Musk Deer Sanctuary to reach Mandal followed by Sagar Village and Gopeshwar.
For this one has to trek with his MTB (Mountain Bike) to Tungnath (3.5 kms) and then start the cycling down hill. The trek is easy but becomes difficult with bike and especially during winters.
